Grants are forms of financial aid that do not have to be repaid. Generally, grants are for undergraduate students and the grant amount is based on need, cost of attendance and enrollment status.
Alabama Student Assistance Grants - are awarded to bona fide Alabama residents based on financial need. The maximum award is $2,500 per academic year.
Federal Pell Grant - does not have to be repaid and the award may range from $600 to $5,550 per year. The Federal Pell Grant is available to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's degree or professional degree and display financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG) - does not have to be repaid and may range from $100 to $4000 per year. This is a need-based program available only to first-time undergraduate degree students. Awards are based on availability of funds.
